September 2023 - It's another exciting week at HMS as sixth grade students are sorted into their houses! [email protected] is also officially open for announcement requests and suggestions from Mustangs.

September 2023 -- Sports news takes the headlines with basketball tryouts for both the boys and girls teams, a Houston v. Collierville girls soccer game, and boys basketball open gym opportunities.

August 2023 - Mr. Nesvick wants students to join the HMS band! No prior experience is required.

April 2023 - Students in Ms. Martin's seventh grade drama class at HMS celebrated the screening of Murder in Oz, a murder mystery. The students wrote, acted in, filmed, and edited a short film for their inaugural TV Studio project. They designed their own costumes and sets (greenscreen backgrounds), but they also ran the cameras, lighting, sound equipment, and editing board.

February 2023 - Houston Middle Cheer showcases their talents at GMSD Cheer show night!

January 2023 - Principal ShaMira Davis is named as GMSD's Principal of the Year!

January 2023 - We are celebrating with a ribbon cutting for the new addition at Houston Middle School.

May 2022 - Lillian Jiang is a student at HMS, and she shares her journey into the world of competitive ice skating.

February 2021 - The Mustangs of HMS boys basketball compete in the 2021 State Championship game.
