May 2023 – Players from the Memphis Showboats came to visit our students at Farmington, Forest Hill, Riverdale, and Houston Middle. These USFL players came to visit during recess, and they spent time playing with the kids. They had to play catch with a football, of course, but it wasn’t all football centered. They played everything from wall ball, to sharks and minos. Six-foot-seven quarterback Cole Kelley even decided to try out the slide, while his teammate, Suh Kamara, spent some time on the swingset. The kids were so excited to be able to show off their athletic skills and sportsmanship to these professional athletes. It was a great community builder, and we are so glad the Memphis Showboats came out to play!
